All About Detergents exists to answer one kind of question well: what to wash with, how much to use, and how to fix it when a load goes wrong.
Who is behind this site

I’m Idania Rosso. I’ve spent more than 25 years working in family homes, and laundry has been part of the job, and of my own home, the whole time. I’ve watched it change, from washing by hand to machines, pods and a long run of new detergents and softeners, and I’ve made most of the mistakes there are: bleach spots on dark clothes, garments ruined in the wash, loads that came out smelling musty, sweaters covered in pills. On this site I share what each of those mistakes taught me, so your clothes don’t have to learn the hard way.
How we put articles together
- We start from the question readers actually ask and answer it in the first few lines.
- Articles are researched and drafted by the All About Detergents team and checked against garment care labels, manufacturer directions and public guidance from consumer-safety and environmental agencies.
- When an article shows our own photos or a home test, that is something we did ourselves. We do not run a testing lab, and when we mention products without a test they are well-regarded options to consider, not test winners.
- We update articles when guidance or products change. If you spot something out of date, let us know.
